The Intention to Connect
Conscious communication is the intention to pay attention to universal feelings and needs in order to connect with each other. These connections make it possible to use our power with (instead of over or against) one another in order to meet our universal needs.
When we are intentional about connecting with others, we increase the likelihood that everyone’s needs can be met.
Our practice is based primarily on Marshall Rosenberg’s work in Nonviolent Communication and Robert Gonzales’ Living Compassion practices.
How We Operate
We are a group of individuals who are committed to practicing conscious communication together. We operate as ongoing communities of practice that meet on different dates and at different times and locations in the greater Madison, Wisconsin area.
Each community of practice consists of individuals who share an interest in conscious communication and support each other in learning. We hold a space for each other so we can deepen our practice, both collectively and as individuals.
Anyone is welcome to join us for practice group meetings. You may join us at any time, or you may choose to wait for the start of a new series. There is no cost to attend, although modest donations are gratefully accepted to help offset the costs of our hosts who donate meeting spaces.
